3rd Quarter 2022- IMAGE OF HOPE RANCH Working together to make stronger communities! Image of Hope Ranch has had a wonderful opportunity to spend 9 weeks with the Goodwill Pre-ETS students. For those of you who are not familiar with this program, it is a pre-employment transition service that provides students the opportunity to leam new skills, give them real job experiences and become more confident in work environments. The students come to the Ranch twice a week to volunteer. There were many jobs for the students to do such as painting, planting and maintaining a pumpkin patch, cleaning the bars, landscaping and more. They were also able to experience leadership when 125 YMCA kids visited the Ranch. The Pre-ETS students were in charge of getting the Y kids from one activity to another and also demonstrated some of the activities. They are hardworking and a joy to work with. Have a great day United Day of Caring 2022 Image of Hope Ranch participated in the United Way Day of Caring for the 4th The boys sensory sand box which will be used in multiple ways. Therapists can use it to help their clients who may have sensory disorders or for the non-verbal client it is a tool to help move them forward with their communication skills. The sandbox will also be enjoyed by the many families that visit the Ranch, Thank you Dekalb Boys Soccer team and United Way of DeKalb County for helping us help others. Working Together! www.imageofhoperanch.org ELSIE WORLD LEADERS IN FUSIBLE LINKS Wings of Hope Wings of Hope is a tutoring program offered to individuals who participate in our Equine One on One Program. These individuals have been identified as having a need for supplemental learning. Students with learning disabilities often have a higher level of emotional concerns such as depression, the feeling of loneliness, and low self-esteem. Their difficulties go beyond math, reading. organization and memory. When they experience constant struggles and failures, they may develop a negativity about themsel Strong feelings of frustration, anger, sadness and shame can lead to anxiety self-harm, suicidal thoughts and depression. Oftentimes they a bullied at school or act out, which adds another layer of trauma Ms. Karen, our Special E Education Teacher is an education specialist for Image of Hope Ranch. She individualizes th s the needs of each student, where and why are they falling behind in any particular area Once the need is identified, steps are taken to correct that issue helping the individual become a more successful student. Karen has ey are developed a program for middle school student with disabilities such as high h functioning autism and also offers tutoring for dyslexia and other learning disabilities. Providing a resource for these students along with the emotional support with the Equine One on One Program, is a wonderful opportunity for them to become strong emotional healthy adults.
