About

The Whitley County Council on Aging was established in October of 1974 to enhance the quality of life for area senior citizens. By 1980, a transportation service and multi-purpose senior citizens center were in operation thanks in part to funding from The Whitley county United Way and federal revenue sharing funds, together with grants from the State Commission on Aging and the Area Agency on Aging for renovation and equipment. Local donations and much needed volunteer labor also went a long way toward the completion of the project. Our vision is that every senior citizen throughout Whitley County will have the opportunity to receive services to assist in maintaining an independent and dignified life-style.
